Global South Initiative (GSI) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to make a difference in Global South. It was established in January 2010, registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu and has affiliation with Social Welfare Council, Nepal and other several national and international civil society networks as well as UN entities..

GSI primarily works for Poverty Reduction, Climate Change & Sustainable Development, Education, Social Entrepreneurship, Development Effectiveness and HIV/AIDS.


Global South Initiative envisions a world free from poverty and injustice.


GSI's mission is to improve the lives of people in the developing countries for a just, peaceful and sustainable world by addressing the issues of poverty, inequality and injustice.

What We Do

  • Research, Policy Intervention and Advocacy at national to global level.

Leadership Structure

The General Assembly is the ultimate decision-maker of Global South Initiative, which held every two years and elect an Executive Committee for 2-years term.
